Project 5: Jimi Hendrix One-Liner
I Reflect
I learned in this project that sometimes less is more. I actually liked it better before I added the final layer of purple. Maybe I could've still used it, but just for the hair or something. Not everything. I just didn't feel like it was finished, so I kept adding more and more, and it just got too complex. The entire point of a one-liner is its simplicity, and I completely missed it. I think I'll have an easier time stopping early, in the right place, next time.I Develop my Craft
I worked not only on the technical skills of drawing his face accurately, but also forming the idea and developing it into something beautiful that I want to make. I haven't done much art in a long time, especially in a "formal" setting, and it did take some work to think of a satisfactory idea, but once I did, it was incredibly rewarding, and I think I'm strengthening the creativity muscle.I Take Risks
As I mentioned previously, I haven't done much art in a long time. The last time I did some serious drawing was probably sometime in middle school, and even then, it was scarce. I was incredibly nervous to start making a ton of art, especially when everyone else in the class had at least 5 months of experience on me. I felt inferior, constantly comparing myself to others. Now I've realized: it's just about doing something that makes me happy. It doesn't even have to be meaningful. Now I can truly start creating art and being me even more.
