Question of the Day: Bob Ross Painting Techniques
Distant Mountains Video |
Today we're gonna paint some happy little clouds.
If I was using oil paint, I would definitely try a Bob Ross-style painting or two. Here are some of my favorite techniques. He paints white over the whole canvas before he starts so he can blend on the canvas, which is a really great idea because you can always go back and fix mistakes. He also is good at not worrying about mistakes. I really liked his technique for painting the mountains as well, using a palette knife to press firmly for the dark outline of the mountains, and then with hardly any pressure for the light snow. I look forward to trying these if I ever get my hands on some oil paint.
